The South Dakota Early Childhood Education Conference is the largest conference devoted to early education systems and strategies in South Dakota. The conference provides advanced professional development for early education professionals committed to improving the quality of, and access to, early childhood services for all children ages birth to five. Keynote Speakers have been finalized!!

 

Dr. Jean Feldman’s noteworthy educational career has spanned more than 40 years. She has served as a classroom teacher, instructor of adults, author, and consultant. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Kindergarten Alliance, and the International Reading Association. Dr. Feldman’s list of degrees include a B.A. from the University of Georgia, a D.A.S.T. from Emory University, and both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia State University. Dr. Feldman inspires teachers across the country with her engaging songs and creative activities that help make teaching and learning FUN!



Judy Harris Helm, Ed.D., began her career teaching first grade then taught 4 year olds, directed, and designed early childhood programs and taught in teacher training programs. She served on the Task Force for the design of the Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center eventually becoming Professional Development Coordinator for the school. For ten years she has been assisting early childhood and elementary schools in integrating research and new methods through her consulting and training company, Best Practices, Inc. Dr. Helm is also the past state President of the Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children.





Holly Elissa Bruno, MA, JD, author, professor, keynote speaker and radio host describes herself as a "recovering attorney". She is an alumna of Harvard University's Institute for Educational Management. She teaches leadership and management courses nationwide for Wheelock College. Her ground-breaking textbook, Leading on purpose: Emotionally intelligent early childhood administration was published by McGraw-Hill. She is a frequent contributor to Child Care information exchange and her articles appear in NAEYC's Young children journal.
