Welcome to SD Head Start Association
We are excited to host the 2026 Region 8 Head Start Association Conference in beautiful Deadwood, SD! The conference will begin bright and early on Tuesday, November 3rd. Day two will be a full day of sessions with a social featuring a mentalist show that evening. The conference will conclude after a closing keynote and sponsored luncheon on Thursday, November 5th.

Attendees can register for credit at http://reach.usiouxfalls.edu. You will need to create an account (or log in if you already have an account) and search by the course name or course link provided. The cost per credit hour for an off-campus graduate or undergraduate credit through the University of Sioux Falls is $50. Payment must be made by credit card.
Accommodations
The Lodge at Deadwood
A room block is reserved at The Lodge at Deadwood. You can reserve rooms by calling 605-584-4800, and you must tell them you are part of the Region 8 Head Start Association block.
Room Block Rate: $89/night + tax
Reservations will be accepted until the cut-off date on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Flight Information
The closest airport is the Rapid City Regional Airport in Rapid City, SD. If you are flying and will need a shuttle to the hotel, The Lodge at Deadwood has a complementary shuttle to and from the airport. You will need to coordinate with the hotel on arranging pick up.
